Go deeper, faster — without waiting weeks between sessions

For couples and individuals who want to do serious work without the pace of weekly therapy. Intensives compress months of progress into one or two focused sessions — creating the conditions for genuine, lasting change.

Why an intensive?

Weekly therapy is powerful. But it has a limitation — you spend 50 minutes going deep, and then you go back to your life, your work, your routines. The momentum builds slowly.

Intensives work differently. By carving out dedicated, uninterrupted time for the therapeutic work, we can go further, faster — without ordinary life pulling you back before something important has shifted. For high-achieving couples and individuals with demanding schedules, this format often fits better than committing to months of weekly appointments.

For couples especially, two consecutive days is the format I recommend most. One day is meaningful — but two days allows the first day to open things up and the second day to consolidate, deepen, and integrate. The work that happens on a second day, when defenses have softened and trust has been established, is often the most significant. A single day is a beginning; two days can be genuinely transformative.

Intensives are particularly effective for:

An intensive is not a shortcut — it is an immersion. The depth of work possible in a single focused day can equal or exceed what takes months in weekly sessions. That said, intensives are not suitable for everyone — all couples are assessed for fit before a booking is confirmed.

Assessment & suitability

Not every couple is ready for an intensive format — and I take that seriously. Before any intensive is confirmed, we have a complimentary consultation call to assess whether this format is appropriate for your situation. There are some circumstances where a slower, weekly pace is clinically safer and more appropriate — for example, when one or both partners are in acute crisis, when there is active domestic violence or safety concerns, or when the relational rupture is so significant that trust needs to be built more gradually first.

The assessment conversation is also where we clarify your goals, discuss what to expect, and determine which package and format is the right fit. This is not a barrier — it is how we make sure the intensive is genuinely useful rather than overwhelming.

Intensive formats

Every intensive is tailored to your specific situation. During our complimentary consultation, we discuss which format makes the most sense for what you are bringing, your schedule, and your goals.

Half-Day

3 hours of clinical time

Comparable in depth to two extended 90-minute sessions — without the week between them. A meaningful starting point, best followed by a full day.

  • · Pre-session intake questionnaire
  • · Written summary & next steps
  • · Individuals & couples

Full-Day

6 hours of clinical time

A full day allows for depth that weekly sessions rarely reach. Structured breaks and integration time throughout. One follow-up session included.

  • · Pre-session intake questionnaire
  • · Written summary & next steps
  • · One follow-up 90-min session included
Recommended

Two-Day

Two consecutive days

Day one opens things up. Day two is where the deepest work happens. Two days together can accomplish what years of weekly therapy sometimes cannot.

  • · Pre-session intake questionnaire
  • · Written summary & next steps
  • · Two follow-up 90-min sessions included
  • · Suitability assessment required

Fees

Intensive fees are in line with the going rate for EFT intensives in Tennessee — typically ranging from $1,400 to $1,800 per day for a certified EFT therapist, depending on format and what is included. A two-day intensive with follow-up sessions typically falls between $2,800 and $3,600. Exact fees are discussed and confirmed during your complimentary consultation. All formats are private pay. Superbill provided upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement.

Follow-Up Sessions

Following an intensive, many clients continue with regular sessions to consolidate the work. Standard rates: $225 / 60 min · $315 / 90 min. An intensive can also be the beginning of ongoing therapy — not just a standalone event.

Hold Me Tight weekends & retreats

In addition to individual intensives, I periodically facilitate Hold Me Tight and Created for Connection marriage retreats — multi-day EFT-based group experiences for couples, grounded in Dr. Sue Johnson's work. These retreats have been facilitated in Tennessee, Malaysia, and internationally.

If you are interested in attending a future retreat or hosting one for your community, church, or organization, please reach out to inquire about upcoming dates and locations.

How to get started

Intensives begin with a complimentary consultation call to discuss your goals, assess fit, and determine which format is right for you. Once we confirm the booking, a pre-session intake questionnaire is sent so we can make the most of every hour together.

Intensives are conducted online via a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. In-person options in the Brentwood/Nashville area may be available — inquire directly.

Payment: Full payment is required to confirm an intensive booking. American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, HSA/FSA, and Venmo accepted. Superbill provided upon request for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
